Call Me Melville

The great American writer Herman Melville wrote Moby Dick and many other celebrated works while living in the landlocked Berkshires of western Massachusetts.

We’re spreading the word with a summer long celebration and introducing his writings to a new generation through music, film, theatre, art, history, and more.

Melville’s works have been explored and celebrated in everything from classic movies and theatre to Tom & Jerry cartoons and heavy metal anthems.

Come visit his country home, hike where he hiked, and enjoy new hay day hack and cheats and more inspired by his vibrant legacy.

And if you can’t come by for a visit, join us online as we read his magnum opus, Moby Dick, a chapter a day for 135 days, from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend, 2012. It’s a voyage worth taking.
